What if my favorite number is negative? It seems, in your example, if your favorite number is negative, multiplication is more likely to increase a number.
If I am technically correct, this inaccuracy confused me, distracting me from your larger message. So perhaps technical correctness is not the worse kind of correct, since a technical inaccuracy has a similar aspect of distracting from what’s really going on.
