One note to waves. They are usually a function of 2 variables.
In the example above, we are looking at the wave at one particular time. We stopped the time and we are looking at displacement at different distances.
We will see similar graph for a set distance and changing time. (the wavelength may be different).
This is an important thing to know while trying to understand waves.
